Borso was still standing there, like a rough tree, the exact same expression painted on his face as was there when I began reading it. This shocked me so I faced my head towards him and gave a fake, grimaced smile. He frowned more, signalling at the letter. I handed it over reluctantly, knowing that he would not accept it. I waited for him to read it, falling asleep on my feet. Finally when he finished he rolled it up and gave it back in a rough thrust of the hand. ‘Alright then’ he responded abruptly. I knew what he was thinking, and it was not good. ‘I’ll think about it,’ I replied, and walked off with it in my hand. I found myself walking to the dormitory to hide it, but then realised this was not smart at all, so I ran back down the steps and into the library to hide it in the page of ‘Ut Queant laxis’. I realised then that it was far past 6:00, when the prime service was held, and to avoid any further punishment I decided to miss it altogether and ponder the letter in the library.
